Rescue & Organization Terms

These terms apply to shelters, rescues, foster networks, and other animal-welfare organizations that claim or manage a listing on PawQuest, in addition to the Terms of Use.
Free for qualifying organizations
Claiming and managing an organization listing is free for qualifying nonprofit and public animal-welfare organizations, subject to meaningful activity and periodic reverification. Inactivity can mark a listing as needing reverification; it does not delete your data or ownership. Foster-only organizations without a public facility are welcome.
Claimed, Verified, and partner labels
"Claimed" means a user has requested or been granted management access. "Verified" means PawQuest completed a limited review at a point in time. Partner designations (such as Archer's Rescue) reflect a relationship with PawQuest. None of these is an endorsement or a guarantee of an organization's legitimacy, safety, practices, or performance.
Your responsibilities
Organizations are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings and animals; lawful animal care and adoption practices; licensing, permits, and taxes; veterinary and legal compliance; and who on their team has which permissions. Keep at least one active owner; an owner must transfer ownership before deleting their account.
Adoptions, donations and fees
Adoption, foster, and transfer agreements are between users and organizations. PawQuest is not a party to adoptions, donations, or fees unless expressly stated.
External data
Some listings and animals may be sourced from third-party data (for example OpenStreetMap). Such data may be corrected or removed. A match with an external source is evidence, not verification.
PetMatch consent
Your adoption animals are used in PetMatch only if your organization separately turns on consent. It is off by default.
Enforcement
PawQuest may suspend, remove, or relabel listings or verification for misuse, inaccuracy, inactivity, legal risk, or safety concerns, subject to applicable law.
