Data, Account Deletion & Retention

Effective 2026-10-03 · Version 2026-10-03

This notice explains account deletion and what PawQuest may keep. Subject to applicable law throughout.

Requesting deletion

You can request account deletion from Profile → Privacy & Data. We record your request and process it; you can see its status and cancel while it is pending. Deletion terminates or significantly limits your access.

No contractual data guarantees

Except where applicable law requires it, PawQuest makes no contractual promise to return, export, preserve, continue storing, or permanently destroy your data. Your statutory privacy rights are not waived and remain available where they apply.

What may be kept

Information may be deleted, de-identified, retained, or archived as permitted or required, including for fraud and abuse prevention, moderation and safety, child protection, legal claims and disputes, audits, transaction and reward history integrity, rescue ownership records, security, backups, and responding to law enforcement or legal process.

Public content

Where practical, public content is removed or de-attributed from your account. Some content may remain where legally or operationally appropriate (for example a resolved missing-pet record another user relied on), with personal attribution removed. Copies others made outside PawQuest are beyond our control.

Rescue owners

If you are the only active owner of an organization, transfer ownership to another team member before deleting your account so the organization is not left without an owner. Organization records are not deleted because an owner leaves.

Children

Under COPPA, parents may review and request deletion of their child's personal information where applicable. Parents can request deletion of a linked child account from Privacy & Data.
